Special Masters Forum in October 2008!

The APPEL knowledge-sharing team is planning an exciting special Masters Forum in October in celebration of the Agency’s 50th anniversary. Center Directors have been asked to submit names of nominees from their respective Centers to attend this event by the end of August.

Forum theme: “Celebrating a Legacy of Exploration –Embracing a Future of Scientific Discoveries and Technological Breakthroughs”

Participants will hear experienced project managers share their stories depicting NASA successes and challenges over the past five decades of space exploration. Lessons learned and their application to today’s projects and missions will be highlighted. This special Forum will also feature a panel of space exploration visionaries who will share their perspectives on topics including the future of space exploration; technological, economical and political driver; strategic framework: collaboration or competition and how to engage the public.

The panel will include members of NASA’s senior technical leadership, leaders from the commercial space exploration industry, and academia. Another major highlight of the forum will be a special update from experts Barry Goldstein and Peter Smith on the Phoenix Mission.

Forum Dates:
Begins Monday evening, October 27 and ends noon on Thursday, October 30th
