Grants
The Center for Program/Project Management Research (CPMR), formed by the partnership of NASA/APPEL and USRA, periodically sponsors university grants and fellowships that are competitively selected and peer reviewed. Awardees who are selected through this process become CPMR Fellows and have an opportunity to conduct research in critical areas of interest to NASA, as well as become a resource of knowledge for this body of work for the Community. CPMR fellowships are instrumental in conducting the research and sharing the knowledge between university researchers and NASA project managers.
In May 2004, NASA/APPEL and USRA/CPMR announced the first university research grants to ten awardees representing eight educational institutions. The Research Topics address a number of important issues in program and project management, as developed in a NASA/USRA Requirements Definition Workshop, held in December 2003, including:
- NASA's program/project management culture Innovation Learning and strategic systems Risk management
The Phase I Grants were competitively selected and awarded on May 24, 2004, for the period of July 1 - December 31, 2004, thus establishing the first Fellows of the CPMR. Click here to learn more about the awardees and their research abstracts.
