ELK #2: Developing Talent in the Federal Workforce (Panel Discussion)

On Thursday, February 28, APPEL’s Engaging Leaders in Knowledge series sponsored a live-streamed learning event on the topic of “Developing Talent in the Federal Workforce” from NASA TV’s studio at Headquarters.

The federal government faces two immediate challenges with its workforce: preparing for retirements in order to maximize knowledge transfer from one generation to the next, and hiring and developing the next generation of civil servants to successfully complete the varied and challenging missions of the federal government.

NASA Chief Knowledge Officer Ed Hoffman moderated a discussion on this topic featuring panelists Jeri L. Buchholz, NASA Assistant Administrator for Human Capital Management, G. Clayton Grigg, Chief Knowledge Officer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kathryn Medina, Executive Director, Chief Human Capital Officers Council, U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
