Leading a Team at NASA (Mike Ryschkewitsch)

NASA Chief Engineer Mike Ryskchkewitsch spoke to the 2013 Systems Engineeing Leadership Development Program (SELDP) graduating class about systems engineering leadership at NASA. Leading up to the graduation ceremony, the class went on a tour of Gettysburg to gain insight into the leadership lessons learned from the battle. Ryschkewitsch discussed the leadership lessons illuminated by the Gettysburg tour and his experience at NASA.

The 2013 SELDP graduated eight new systems engineers. Throughout the yearlong program, the eight participants engaged in a series of courses and workshops on leadership, benchmarking visits, and had a rotational assignment at a new center.

“One of the things I like about NASA is that we have the best people,” NASA Chief Engineer Mike Ryschkewitsch said to the 2013 SELDP graduating class at NASA Headquarters on Thursday, June 6. ” We give them impossible jobs and they go like hell to get the job done.”
