APPEL’s courses and virtual library get a boost with new online resources.
Ten of APPEL’s courses offered in FY14 provide the NASA workforce an enriched learning experience with the incorporation of content from e-learning providers Skillsoft and Books24x7. The online learning resources cover several disciplines including business, information technology, and engineering, and are available through SATERN, NASA’s learning management system.
Nearly 150 Skillsoft courses and over 1,500 online books have been aligned with the APPEL curriculum. The enhanced courses include:
Creativity and Innovation
Crucial Conversations
Communicating Technical Issues
Leading Complex Projects
Negotiations
Passing the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam
Strategic Thinking for Project Success
Team Leadership
Team Membership
Technical Writing for the NASA Engineer
These online resources, including the APPEL Virtual Library, are accessible to NASA employees by logging into SATERN and accessing the Skillsoft and Books24x7 content on the NASA network.
Updates to the curriculum are part of APPEL’s ongoing efforts to leverage online resources to provide NASA employees with a first-rate training experience inside and outside of the classroom.
