Located in Operations Support Building II (OSBII) at the Kennedy Space Center, ACE is a professional development facility that supports the NASA Academy of Program/Project & Engineering Leadership (APPEL). It serves as a multidisciplinary learning center for the NASA community, which includes civil servants as well as partners in industry, academia, other government agencies, professional associations, and foreign space agencies. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 13, 2011 attended by Kennedy Space Center Director Robert Cabana marked its formal opening.

ACE will host events such as knowledge sharing forums and core courses such as International Project Management, which brings together NASA civil servants with international partners.

“The Academy Center for Excellence expands our ability to work and learn together with partners in all sectors,” said Dr. Ed Hoffman, director of APPEL. “The location and setting provide a strong attraction.”

ACE is a full-service facility that can host an event, seminar, conference, workshop, meeting, or other learning activity. “The team here has worked hard to create a very attractive space that can be adapted for just about any professional development purpose,” said ACE managing director Stephen Angelillo.
