These include formal affiliations with external accrediting bodies that have reviewed and recognized the high quality of the Academy’s training courses and professional development activities.

 

Accreditations


International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)

NASA APPEL KS is an IACET Accredited Provider (AP) and complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices and design. As an IACET AP, NASA APPEL KS is authorized to issue the IACET Continuing Education Unit (CEU) to all practitioners who successfully complete our courses.

Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Executive Council 

NASA APPEL KS is a member of the PMI Global Executive Council.  The Council at PMI is an impactful collaborative forum of leaders from prominent global organizations sharing best and emerging project management practices.  The goal is to deliver robust opportunities for learning and networking by bringing together thought leaders and influencers to create engaging experiences. 

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a nonprofit membership organization founded to develop and disseminate the interdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems.

International Program/Project Management Committee (IPMC)

The International Program/Project Management Committee (IPMC) is a committee organized under the auspices of the International Astronautical Federation that focuses on sharing experiences, best practices and new techniques with space program/project management practitioners in space agencies, companies, universities and professional societies throughout the world.

NASA Engineering Network (NEN) (NASA Only)

The NASA Engineering Network (NEN) is an integrated suite of tools that promote collaboration, learning and knowledge sharing among NASAs engineers.

NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC)

NASA Engineering and Safety Center’s (NESC) mission is to perform value-added independent testing, analysis, and assessments of NASA’s high-risk projects to ensure safety and mission success. The NESC engages proactively to help NASA avoid future problems. At the core of the NESC is an established knowledge base of technical specialists pulled from the ten NASA Centers and from a group of partner and organizations external to the Agency. Office of Human Capital Management (OHCM) (NASA Only)

The Human Capital Program includes activities to develop an adaptable workforce; an integrated talent management model that addresses the entire employee lifecycle; and workforce analytics that can deliver strategic insight and measure success through integrated human capital systems.

NASA FAC-P/PM Certification

In response to OMB policy, NASA developed a program to certify Program/Project Managers (P/PMs) who are currently managing projects with lifecycle costs greater than $250 million as defined in NPR 7120.5
