Fifth Forum of Master Project Managers
APPEL’s Fifth Forum of Master Project Managers took place August 19-21, 2002.
The program began with an open forum and opportunity for participant networking. The Keynote dinner speaker was Courtney Stadd, NASA Headquarters Associate Administrator and Chief of Staff. Following dinner, Seth Kahan from the Performannce Development Group spoke on “The Secret of Life.”
Forum presentations included talks by the folliowng speakers and about the following topics:

- Topic: Best Practices — Scott Cameron, Procter and Gamble
- Terry Little, Department of Defense
- Topic: Project Planning Best Practices — Ken Schwer, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
- Topic: Simplicity: Our Role in Creating Value — Bill Jensen, The Jenson Group
- Topic: Projects in the Virtual World at Internet Speed — David Offenkrantz, America Online
- Topic: Treadmilling — Cathy Peddie, NASA Glenn Research Center
- Topic: Learning from System Failure — Stephan Davis, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
There was also a Panel Discussion of Project Planning, Perspectives of Project Managers from the Private Sector, and scheduled periods of small- and large-group discussion following various presentations.
