Knowledge 2020 to be Held at Kennedy Space Center

Speakers at Second Knowledge 2020. The participants are from industry and academia on leading practices.

NASA’s Chief Knowledge Officers (CKO), NASA Knowledge Points of Contact, and project and program practitioners are all coming together for a unique knowledge sharing and problem solving event at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), October 21st – 23rd, 2014.

“Knowledge 2020” will gather together some of the best practitioners of knowledge sharing from within NASA, other organizations, and private industry leaders. NASA’s CKO is hosting this Knowledge 2020 session as a unique and powerful way to engage NASA knowledge and project community members in helping us with the most recent ASAP challenge on enhancing the flow of critical knowledge across the agency. Together, participants will hear from speakers from industry, associations, and consulting services on leading practices. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Jon Cowart, NASA Commercial Crew Program, KSC and Dan Rasky, Chief Portal Office, NASA Ames
  • Carla O’Dell, CEO, American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC)
  • Oscar Javier Guerra, Unit Head, Knowledge Management and Innovation Strategy, Ecopetrol, Columbia
  • Marty Lipa, Executive Director, Knowledge Management Center of Excellence, Merck Manufacturing Division and Rob Guenard, Director, Knowledge Management Center of Excellence, Merck Manufacturing Division
  • Larry Suda, Palatine Group/Management Worlds, Inc.
  • Don Cohen –Writer, researcher and consultant on organizational knowledge and social capital
  • Larry Prusak – Founder of the IBM Institute for Knowledge Management and author or co-author of 12 books and numerous articles

NASA practitioners and fellow workers in knowledge services will engage in activities related to agency-wide and worldwide knowledge sharing, through question-and-answer panel discussions and round-table work groups engaged in real-life recommendations. Much of the active learning will be related directly to oversight organizations objectives for aggressive knowledge sharing through procedural, technological and institutional constructs.

The forum kicks-off at the Marriott Courtyard, 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 21st, and continues at the KSC ACE Facility, OSB2, 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22nd, through 12 noon, Thursday, October 23rd
