Federal Community Plans Quarterly KM Meeting

Business-driven Knowledge Management is the theme of the next meeting of federal agency knowledge professionals.

The 26th Quarterly Federal Knowledge Management Community (FKMC) meeting is scheduled Friday, June 16, at Fort Meade Army base in Maryland. The meeting hosts are Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) and longtime FKMC member Bill Balko and Defense Media Activity (DMA) Knowledge Management Specialist Robert Hambly.

Agenda

John Hovell, KM Expert and BAE Systems Organizational Development Lead, will present “Business Approach to KM: Case Study from BAE Systems.” Hovell’s presentation is designed to help knowledge practitioners learn the four-step knowledge transfer process and its return on investment; understand key business needs and the measurable value of KM; and measure, manage and learn through KM processes.

  • Ed Rogers, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center CKO, “Measuring Success of Knowledge Efforts at NASA”
  • Stephanie Keith, Department of Defense (DOD) Team Lead, Cyber Workforce, “DOD Coding of the Cyber Workforce with Knowledge Management”
  • John Holloway, DOD CIO, Information Enterprise/MPE-IS Architecture and Engineering, “Introduction of DODI 8220.a”
  • Demonstration of the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) MOSAIQ knowledge management tool
  • Tour of the Fort Meade Army installation

FKMC Overview

FKMC quarterly meetings provide an opportunity for networking, collaboration and agency updates. FKMC has more than 230 members representing over 40 U.S. government agencies and is open to all federal employees.
