About the Instructor(s)

Candace Bertotti

Candace Bertotti began working in live media, and then served seven years at the U.S. Department of Education. Candace works with a wide range of audiences (from CEOs to coal miners), industries (from healthcare to high-tech), and organizations (from Homeland Security to Honda, Google, Mars Snack Foods, and others). For five years Candace taught negotiation, decision-making and crisis leadership at the University of Maryland’s Center for International Development and Conflict Management. Candace currently teaches negotiation at Georgetown Law School, and serves as a mediator for child abuse cases in D.C. Superior Court.

Kevin Brown

Kevin Brown has been training and developing individuals for over 25 years. Previously, Kevin worked closely with leaders of a large pharmaceutical company to implement Crucial Conversations training as part of a major culture change initiative. In three years, Kevin trained more than 500 managers and employees from all divisions including sales, marketing, sales operations, finance, research, and human resources. As a result, employees who once experienced critical issues that halted productivity were able to address and resolve their problems within their teams in such a way as to create improved results.

Traci Chevraux

Traci Chevraux has more than 18 years of experience as a facilitator, speaker, coach and organizational consultant. She balances theory, experience, and practice with the organizations she works with to maximize their potential through increased effectiveness, results-driven strategy, and strengthened vital behaviors. Traci’s approach to facilitation embraces the concept of experiential learning and high-level discussion to give participants the chance to learn by engaging with the context.

Steve Childs

Steve Childs spent 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he started as a sales representative and was promoted to head of a marketing division, then head of a sales division, and eventually to the leadership development team. In 2009, Steve started his own consulting company specializing in leadership development and began working with VitalSmarts. Steve’s goal is to engage learners in an active process to increase retention and post-learning application.

Doug Finton

Doug Finton began his career with the Volkswagen Group specializing in management training, and eventually becoming the manager of Learning and Development for the North American region. He left Volkswagen in 1996 to become a leadership and organization development consultant for clients in the United States and Germany. Doug has worked with the authors and researchers of VitalSmarts for 13 years, and holds the exclusive title of Senior Master Training.

Barbara Hauser

Barbara Hauser has dedicated her career to helping global leaders achieve growth in their business objectives and significance in their professional lives. The spark that animates Barbara’s coaching and facilitation work is her entrepreneurial spirit and disciplined approach to learning for the sake of growth. The experience that grounds her interventions in real-world business issues has been culled from a wide range of clients in multiple industries within both the US and Latin America. Having lived and worked in Latin America for over thirty years, Barbara is exceptionally effective at facilitating in Latin American and global business settings and cultures.

Murray Low

Murray Low is an international consultant, trainer, and thought leader in culture change and leadership development. For more than 26 years, he has designed and implemented major corporate change initiatives in the public and private sectors including the pipeline, oil and gas, steel, and pharmaceutical industries. Murray has the ability to help people at all levels, from executives to frontline managers achieve better results by applying high-leverage vital behaviors.

Jill Morenz

Jillian Morenz has presented on a variety of professional development and leadership topics over the years. Since 2011, she has partnered with Crucial Learning to deliver speeches and trainings around the world that are grounded in the company’s ongoing observational research. She brings key training concepts to both onsite and virtual events focused on interpersonal communication, individual and team accountability, and organizational change. Her style is fast-paced and focuses on connecting ideas to achieving results. To that end, she facilitates in both live and virtual classrooms by connecting participants’ day-to-day activities and responsibilities with their newly learned skills.

Beth Wolfson

Beth Wolfson has over thirty years of experience as both a leader in large organizations and as a consultant and trainer to organizations across almost every industry sector. She understands from personal experience the challenges, realities, issues, and frustrations her clients bring into the classroom. Beth excels in surfacing real issues in a safe manner so that participants can have breakthrough moments and experiences. Her ability to lead teams from being stuck into gaining forward momentum is one of her hallmark traits.
