In an ever-changing, fast-paced work environment, it is incumbent upon NASA’s leaders to be adaptable, self-aware, and resilient because these attributes are needed to properly impact employee retention, manage challenging situations, boost productivity, and increase organizational morale/confidence. This course is designed to establish and/or elevate the leadership capabilities for Program/Project Management teams.

This course is designed for NASA Team Leads and Program/Project Managers who are interested in learning more about handling uncertain situations, such as managing constrained resources, employee relationships, and multiple changes.

Upon completion of the Situational Leadership Essentials course, participants will be able to:

  • Prepare leaders to correctly contend with any situation or challenge.
  • Manage their leadership style to meet the demands and requirements of different situations and groups.
  • Build trust over time by correctly triaging situations rather than overreacting.
  • Use the tools and tactics presented to increase stakeholder buy-in and enhance performance.
  • Organize a cohesive team and prepare common standards for performance and quality.
  • Avoid the application of a one-size-fits-all approach when leading a team or project.
